About Us

Rebuild 52 International is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization born during the global pandemic to bring hope, healing, and restoration to families and communities. What began as a small effort to offer comfort and faith-based emotional support during times of grief and loss has grown into a comprehensive movement dedicated to rebuilding lives from the inside out.

Our Mission

To ignite dreams, and hope, strengthen families, and empower individuals through a holistic approach to wellbeing—addressing the spirit, mind, and body—and to equip communities with the tools and resources they need to thrive.

Our Programs and Services

Rebuild 52 offers bilingual, culturally relevant programs designed to meet people where they are. Our initiatives include:

  • Faith-Based Emotional Support Groups: Providing safe spaces for healing through grief, loss, and life transitions.

  • Mental Wellness & Peer Support Groups: Promoting emotional resilience, mental health awareness, and community connection.

  • “Muévete Bike Initiative” for Youth: Encouraging physical wellness, leadership, and positive youth engagement through cycling and outdoor activity.

  • 52-Week Holistic Wellbeing Program: A four-module journey focused on family restoration, self-care, financial literacy, and spiritual growth.

  • Prevention and Crisis Intervention Workshops: Offering faith-integrated education on trauma, substance abuse, and emotional recovery.

  • Community Linkages & Resource Navigation: Connecting families to local support systems, housing assistance, and essential services.

  • Financial Literacy and Life Skills Training: Empowering participants with the knowledge and confidence to build stable, self-sufficient futures.

Our Reach

Serving primarily Service Planning Area 6 (SPA 6) in Los Angeles County, Rebuild 52 continues to expand its impact—building a growing network of Latino churches, faith leaders, and community partners within the immigrant faith community and beyond.

Our Vision

To see individuals, families, and communities rebuilt and restored—living with hope, purpose, and dignity—supported by a strong network of faith-based and community partnerships that foster transformation across generations.

Our Future

As we move forward, Rebuild 52 is expanding its outreach to support the homeless, Transitional Age Youth (TAY), and families in crisis through linkages, peer mentorship, financial empowerment, and substance abuse recovery resources—both in person and virtually.
We are also partnering with healthcare providers, Los Angeles County departments, and insurance companies to offer preventive health education and services, including Diabetes Prevention and Diabetes Management Programs, helping our communities take proactive steps toward healthier living and long-term wellbeing.

Our Story

Rebuild 52 International was born out of crisis, faith, and the deep desire to bring hope during one of the most challenging times in recent history—the global pandemic. What began as a small outreach to comfort grieving families soon grew into a movement of restoration and empowerment for entire communities.

Founded by Christian and Isela Ponciano, both immigrants with a heart for service, Rebuild 52 reflects the diversity, resilience, and compassion of Los Angeles itself. Christian, originally from Guatemala, and Isela, from Mexico, envisioned a faith-based organization that would unite people from all walks of life—immigrants and U.S.-born members, young and old, representing many races and cultures—under one purpose: to rebuild lives and ignite dreams.

Christian brings a unique blend of spiritual leadership, professional expertise, and lived experience. He holds a Master’s in Biblical Counseling, is a Certified Medical Peer Support Specialist, a Licensed Health, Accident, and Life Insurance Agent, and a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC-1). He also serves as a DEEP Diabetes Empowerment Education Program Peer Educator, reflecting Rebuild 52’s commitment to preventive health and wellness education.

Beyond Rebuild 52, Christian’s leadership extends throughout Los Angeles County. He currently serves as Chair of the Faith-Based Advocacy Council (FBAC) with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, is an active member of the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) with LAUSD and the Foster Care Youth Subcommittee, and contributes to the Behavioral Health Services Act (BHSA) Community Planning Team (CPT). He also serves as a Commission Chaplain, providing spiritual care and community support across multiple sectors.

Together with a multicultural and multigenerational leadership team, Rebuild 52 stands as a living example of unity in diversity. Our leaders come from different countries, professions, and life experiences, yet share one common mission—to bring healing, empowerment, and transformation to families across Los Angeles County and beyond.

We love Los Angeles—its people, its culture, and its potential—and we believe that by working together, one neighborhood, one family, and one life at a time, we can rebuild hope and restore communities.
